Description
White Zombie were already unlikely rock stars by the mid Nineties, but Astro Creep: 2000 impossibly rocket-launched the band even further into the mainstream. That’s still all kinds of wild, considering the NYC freakazoids’ fourth and final studio album Franken-stitched Castrol-dripping moto-metal riffage, industrial-twitched beatwork and haunting horror movie samples around the grunt-and-growl sermonizing of Rob Zombie. Then again, who could deny the instant appeal of the band’s biggest hit, “More Human Than Human”? These creeps went out on a major high note.
