While the two genres couldn’t have been farther apart in the Nineties, within the last decade, it’s become increasingly common for hardcore bands to start adopting nu-metal influences into their songwriting — which is what Snot were innovatively doing nearly 25 years ago. The California band’s 1997 debut, Get Some, is a super ahead-of-the-curve fusion of chanty hardcore punk, snarling nu-metal and twangy sludge that splits the difference between Rage Against the Machine, Limp Bizkit and Suicidal Tendencies. It rules.
