Slayer blessed the metal world with Divine Intervention in 1994. Their sixth full-length release marked a major turning point in the band’s career, being their first without drum icon Dave Lombardo in the line-up. The good news was that Paul Bostaph was just as much of a beast behind the kit. As for the rest of Slayer, they served up a perma-heated collection of eerie grooves (“213”), hardcore-edged riff vitriol (“Dittohead”) and serial killer tales. Showing no quarter through their rebuild period, Divine Intervention is a testament to Slayer’s aggression and everlasting reign
