Description
Motörhead were coming off a frenzied five-album run by the time they headed out to tour the U.K. in the spring of 1981. And onstage, already-propulsive ragers like “Ace of Spades” and “Overkill” became further infused by a sweat-slicked, mescaline-chewin’ urgency. No Sleep ‘til Hammersmith is a snapshot of a rising, yet already iconic rock force. And while the live album technically doesn’t include a single recording captured at the titular Hammersmith Odeon, Lemmy Kilmister wasn’t going to let the facts ruin a good album title.
