Released just 14 months after Bad Religion iconic 1988 reunion LP Suffer — with many of its songs written on the road — No Control confirmed that the Southern California act were back with a vengeance. Further honing their melodic hardcore sound, the 15-song release delivered speed-forward earworms at a quick clip, above which vocalist Greg Graffin unfurled studious, considered lyricism on political opportunists and living in society’s “inharmonic whole.” Featuring classic punk tracks “Automatic Man” and “I Want to Conquer the World,” No Control remains a stunner in Bad Religion’s sterling discography.
