Riot Fest organizers have confirmed that TOOL will be among the artists headlining this year’s event, as well as Alanis Morissette and Morrissey.
Set to be staged between September 18th-20th at Chicago, Illinois’ Douglass Park, the event will also feature sets from rock, punk and metal acts including Pierce the Veil, Angine de Poitrine, the Callous Daoboys, Bad Religion, Rise Against, Descendents, Pennywise, Pixies, Fleshwater, Chat Pile, GWAR, Social Distortion, Show Me the Body, Melt-Banana, Iggy Pop, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Murphy’s Law, Soul Glo, Taking Back Sunday and many more.
Notably, the lineup features both Sex Pistols, currently fronted by former Rattlesnakes/Gallows singer Frank Carter, and Public Image Ltd., the veteran outfit led by former Pistols singer John Lydon (a.k.a. Johnny Rotten). It’s as-yet unclear whether these’ll be staged on the same day. Lydon has long been critical of the reunion and his old bandmates, so we’re not expecting an onstage team-up.
