TOOL are getting in on the destination festival business.
The beloved prog-metal institution announced today (October 24th) that they’ll be launching their inaugural TOOL Live in the Sand fest March 7th-9th at the Hard Rock & Royalton Resorts in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The all-inclusive event will see TOOL playing two sets, and the lineup also features Primus, Mastodon, Coheed and Cambria, Eagles of Death Metal, King’s X, Fishbone, Wheel, CKY, Moonwalker, and the band’s longtime visual collaborators Alex Grey and Allyson Grey.
The main stage is located right on the beach beside the Hard Rock Punta Cana. In addition to the performances, TOOL Live in the Sand will also apparently offer up “endless activities & tropical amenities for fans to enjoy,”
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to share the news that Primus, Mastodon, and Coheed and Cambria will be joining us for our first-ever Caribbean performance at ‘TOOL in the Sand,’” bassist Justin Chancellor said in a statement. “2025 is shaping up nicely. See you all there for what should be an unforgettable weekend of music!”
Various ticket packages go on sale next Wednesday (October 30) at 10 a.m. PT.
Next year also finds TOOL vocalist Maynard James Keenan relaunching his Sessanta tour with A Perfect Circle, Primus and Puscifer. As for “Live in the Sand” performer Coheed and Cambria, they’re keeping things sunny in 2025 via next November’s SS Neverender cruise, which finds the band setting sail alongside L.S. Dunes, Thursday and more.
