Hear DUFF MCKAGAN’s punky new singles with FEAR and D.O.A. singers

Coming off bassist Duff McKagan’s recent David Bowie cover, the veteran Guns N’ Roses bassist is shouting out his punky, West Coast roots through a pair of original tracks that feature guest vocals from FEAR/Range War frontman Lee Ving and Joey “Shithead” Keithley of D.O.A.

Both tracks are set to appear on an upcoming 7-inch vinyl release that will be sold during McKagan’s upcoming tour, and likewise see a wider release this coming Record Store Day (November 29th).

“All Turning Loose” starts as an on-the-beat slam of raw-and-raging old school punkiness, with McKagan and Ving tandem attacking the mic with melodic swagger. With “My Name is Bob,” McKagan and his band plunge through a bend-heavy, weed-smokin’, cops-duckin’ celebration, with Keithley interjecting a few extra growly lines, too.

“‘All Turning Loose’ seems to highlight those times in life that you just wanna pull your fuckin’ hair out! Lee Ving adds his pure brilliance…and it makes me so happy,” McKagan explained in a statement, adding of the record’s flipside, “‘My Name Is Bob’ is a fun rocker that seemed to write itself one day. Having Joey Shithead be my compatriot along for the ride is one of the best things that could ever happen.”

“Hey it was great to be invited to sing on My Name is Bob,” Shithead added. “It’s a great story about how messed up life can be for the average person. Duff hit the nail directly on the head with this one. My name is Joe but I’m glad to help kick ass in the name of Bob! Ya Hey!!!”

In addition to the new tunes, McKagan has also unveiled a live video of his cover of Bowie classic “Heroes,” which was captured during his recent overseas tour. The performance at London, UK’s Islington Assembly Hall reunited McKagan with Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, who had also performed with the bassist in their Neurotic Outsiders project.
