Bay Area thrash lords Testament have announced they’ll be supporting the re-release of their Practice What You Preach through an upcoming tour promising deep cuts, deep lore and even a few ballads.
The band’s newly-announced, 15-show “An Evening with Testament” headline tour kicks off April 30th at the Rialto Theater in Tucson, Arizona, and will head out East before boomeranging back to the West Coast for a May 25th finale at the House of Blues in San Diego, California.
While out on the road, Testament will likewise make a pair of previously-announced pitstops at the Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville festivals.
For the headline dates, the thrashers will be hitting a number of tracks from their classic 1989 LP, and throughout the night they’ll be sharing stories about the genesis of Practice What You Preach, as well as the broader history of their band. They’ll also be hitting ballads, perform a few unplugged numbers, and round things out with a few deep cuts. Guitarist Eric Peterson is teasing the trek as “a night to remember.”
“We’ll have some cool tales to tell about making the record, and where we were at that time in our career,” he confirmed in a statement. “Practice What You Preach was our third, full length, major label release and our most commercially successful album at that time. We’ll be playing songs you’ve probably wanted to hear forever, that we never did, but will do in the ‘Evening with Testament’!”
