No strangers to cryptic promo rollouts, masked metal outfirt Sleep Token are starting to tease…something. The UK outfit launched a new, mysterious website called showmehowtodanceforever.com this week, and fans of Vessel and co. are now hoping an album reveal is imminent.
Backing up slightly, it had previously been teased that people would be able to “witness the next chapter” of Sleep Token at next summer’s Download Festival in the UK. Festival founder Andy Copping had likewise added late last year that “album number four should be out” in time for Download.
This week, Sleep Token launched a TikTok campaign to promote the new website. Once you land on the site, you’re faced with a word scramble-style puzzle. As fans on Reddit quickly figured out, if you arrange the letters as “DOUOSVAVVM” you’re given the chance to sign up for Sleep Token’s email list.
If you do indeed sign up, you’re sent an email that includes the following message: Behold, a divide.
Other online sleuths, as pointed out by Metal Injection, went deep into the coding and discovered the following line of coordinates: “52°48’05.0″N 2°00’45.0″W”.
The location appears to be the Shepherd’s Monument on the grounds of Shugborough Hall in Staffordshire, UK. Funnily enough, the monument features the same inscription: “DOUOSVAVVM.” Famously, while historians have studied the 18th century building for years, no one seems to have cracked the code as to what the inscription could mean.
While the details have yet to materialize, it all seems to point to Sleep Token setting up their return in 2025. More updates when we have them.
Sleep Token’s last album was 2023’s Take Me Back to Eden, which Revolver called the best album of the year.
So far, Sleep Token’s live schedule for 2025 includes three festival appearances, at Germany’s Rock im Park and Rock am Ring events and the aforementioned Download set in Derby, UK. You can find out more here.
