After issuing their rootsy collaborative AVTT / PTTN album earlier in the month, Mike Patton and Americana outfit the Avett Brothers gave their new project it’s live debut last night (November 25th) for a crowd in New York City.
The show — which teases a forthcoming AVTT / PTTN tour in March — took place at the Loreto Theater at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture, as part of the Grammy Museum’s “New York Evening” series. The supergroup played four songs off the new album, starting with “Dark Night of My Soul,” which had Patton singing and clapping as the rest of the octet leaned into folky tones.
They also partake in a Q&A led by comedian Eric André, who previously interviewed Patton for a Revolver cover story.

Patton and the Avetts had also done a signing at the Rough Trade store earlier in the day, and have taped a performance that will air tonight (November 26th) on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
AVTT / PTTN’s self-titled debut album is out now via Thirty Tigers/Ramseur Records/Ipecac Recordings, and you can pick it up on “Sunspot”-colored vinyl in Revolver’s shop.
