Last night (November 27th), Gojira kicked off their French tour and, playing in their home land, pulled out all the stops.
Notably, the show — at Reims Arena — marked the band’s first performance with Car Bomb guitarist Greg Kubacki, who is filling in for Joe Duplantier on the tour due to the Gojira bandleader’s recent hand surgery.
Maybe even more importantly, the show saw Gojira playing two classic songs live for the first time: L’Enfant Sauvage‘s “Born in Winter” and From Mars to Sirius‘ “Global Warming,” the latter of which the group performed as part of October’s three-song session filmed at Duplantier’s Silver Cord Studio.
