2025 was a monumental year for heavy music — arguably one of its biggest yet — and Revolver is celebrating the culture-leading tastemakers, transcendent live shows and jaw-dropping songs that defined the past 12 months with our new, special Revolver Awards 2025 collector’s issue.
In particular, the issue hails Deftones as Revolver’s Artist of the Year for their massive 2025. From their excellent private music LP to the most recent iteration of their wildly diverse Dia De Los Deftones festival, the alt-metal leaders further cemented their position as both elder statesmen and cutting-edge trailblazers.
Taking Album of the Year honors is Sleep Token’s Even in Arcadia, which broke sales records and smashed boundaries. A cultural moment bigger than any one band or subgenre, the record’s release marked the opening of a major gateway to heavy music.
Revolver’s Song of the Year is “End of You,” the superheroic collaborative single featuring Poppy, Evanescence’s Amy Lee and Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante, three of the most important voices in metal today. More than just a convergence of star power, the song was a powerful statement — as the trio explain in the issue.
Finally, the Live Band of the Year Award goes to Ghost, who brought their most ambitious production yet to some of the band’s biggest stages yet — and notably, banned phones from their shows for a more charged and immersive experience. In the issue, mastermind Tobias Forge discusses how that move and more took Ghost’s concerts to the next level.
The Revolver Awards 2025 special collector’s issue features 80 pages and thicker than a standard magazine.
