While Marilyn Manson performed his first proper show in five years this past Friday (August 2nd), conspicuously absent from that opening set on Five Finger Death Punch’s summer arena tour was Manson’s new song, “As Sick as the Secrets Within”, which had been released earlier that same day. Turns out the shock rocker was saving the song for a headlining performance the next day (August 3rd), with the single getting its live debut at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland.
As previously reported, Manson is currently splitting his summer schedule either opening for 5FDP or taking top-bill duties on a shorter series of headlining dates. The Fillmore performance was one of the latter, with the longer headlining set in Maryland featuring a mix of older and newer tracks from Manson. The newest, of course, was “As Sick as the Secrets Within,” which he performed more than halfway into a 16-song set.

The Fillmore set also marked Manson’s second night out with his current live band comprising new members Code Orange guitarist Reba Meyers and former Rob Zombie bassist Piggy D, as well as returning players guitarist Tyler Bates and drummer Gil Sharone (ex-Dillinger Escape Plan).
Manson is currently attempting a comeback after being accused by numerous women of sexual abuse in early 2021. He publicly denied the allegations made against him, but has since been embroiled in a series of court battles, most of which have either been settled or dismissed.
Manson re-joins the 5FDP tour tonight (August 5th), which resumes at Holmdel, New Jersey’s PNC Bank Arts Center, and likewise features an opening set from Slaughter to Prevail. You’ll find the rest of the dates over here.
