Wolfgang Van Halen is taking his hard-rocking Mammoth WVH project on the road throughout 2025 — and going by a blood-spewing, horror-heavy music video for the band’s new single, “The End,” the shows should be killer.
The visual for Mammoth WVH’s latest track was inspired by mid-Nineties gorefest From Dusk Till Dawn, and fittingly enough this clip was co-directed by two people quite integral to that vampy-and-campy classic: filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and horror effects legend Greg Nicotero. Van Halen himself drafted up the concept.
It all starts with Wolfgang and his band heading into a dive bar to play a gig, where a promoter — played by Danny Trejo, likewise a From Dusk Till Dawn alum — warns the rockers that they have to stick to ballads for the night. “No loud crashes, no distortions and no frickin’ solos,” he quips.
That doesn’t sit well with Wolfie, who rips right into a double-handed tap intro that instantly freaks out the locals. We already knew the dude had special powers, but his guitar playing ends up transforming folks into a murderous gang of vampires, werewolves and ghouls. Slash, Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy and Van Halen’s mom, Valerie Bertinelli, are also there to witness the carnage.
“I’ve had the tapping idea on the intro for ‘The End’ since before Mammoth,” Van Hale said of the musical direction. “I was able to fit it into this world. It’s still over-the-top and shreddy, but it’s also melodic and controlled. Overall, I was doing some different things on the record, and I knew this was going to be a big step. Once we finished ‘The End,’ it felt really special to me.”
Equal parts goofy and goopy, the vid goes on to showcase some monstrous special effects work, along with Mammoth WVH’s assault of crunchy modern rock chorus hooks and super slappy bass solos. Naturally, Van Halen’s also going beast-mode on his guitar.

As for Mammoth WVH’s upcoming tour dates, the group have a handful of opening dates with Seether coming up this month, and then head out on a summer run alongside Creed. Wolfie and Co. have likewise just announced a fall headlining tour, which kicks off in November. Details on all of those shows can be found down below.
Van Halen has been teasing his band’s forthcoming Mammoth III album since 2024. It’s as yet unclear if “The End” is part of the upcoming full-length, which has yet to be given a release date.
