Late night, network TV felt the full, eclipsing weight of Knocked Loose and Poppy yesterday (November 26th), when the two acts brought their hardcore and heavy-as-hell “Suffocate” collaboration to Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Prior to the on-air performance, Knocked Loose had invited fans to “come mosh on TV” to “the heaviest band on live television,” and they delivered, busting out a chest-caving five-song set: “Suffocate,” “Don’t Reach for Me,” “Moss Covers All,” “Take Me Home” and “Sit & Mourn.” Joined by guest screamer Poppy (who skipped onto stage in a white dress) for the first of these, the band went absolutely beast-mode while bruising through the You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To single on Kimmel’s outdoor stage. As you can see up above, the crowd got sick in the pit, too.
The performance was enhanced by the elements, specifically, fire, as towering plumes of pyro blasted onstage, and water, as a timely L.A. rain pummeled the moshing fans.
“Suffocate” has been a standout track ever since Knocked Loose revealed the song earlier this year, but the cut is only picking up steam. As previously reported, “Suffocate” has been nominated for Best Metal Peformance at the 2025 Grammy Awards, running against the likes of Metallica, Judas Priest, Spiritbox and Gojira.
The 67th annual Grammy Awards take place on February 2nd at the Crypto.com Arena in L.A.
