Hear AUGUST BURNS RED’s heavy Christmastime cover “Waltz of the Flowers”

While many of you are probably winding down for the Thanksgiving Holiday, metalcore veterans August Burns Red are already getting into the Christmas spirit. As per tradition, the band have just unveiled a yuletide banger, this time putting a metallic twist on Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker highlight, “Waltz of the Flowers.”

The newly unveiled instru-metal cover continues August Burns Red’s spirited journey through the holiday songbook — having last toughened up “Up on the Housetop” in 2023.

The group had also approached The Nutcracker’s serene “Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy” more than a decade ago, with their latest distortion-juiced, fast-tracked tribute to Tchaikovsky landing somewhere between melodeath and a Trans-Siberian Orchestra romp.

If you ever imagined what the soundtrack would for the Mouse King and his cronies to start circle-pitting around a gingerbread army, August Burns Red has got you covered. You can hear for yourself up above.

“In keeping with our annual tradition, we are excited to reveal this year’s August Burns Red holiday song,” the band wrote in a statement. “We tackled the classical ballet ‘Waltz of the Flowers,’ taken from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. It was so much fun adding our spin to the timeless melodies written by this legendary composer. Hope you like it and Happy Holidays!”

August Burns Red’s annual “Christmas Burns Red” concerts take place December 13-14th at Lancaster, Pennsylvania’s Freedom Hall at the Lancaster Country Convention Center. The two night stand will also feature sets from the likes of The Devil Wears Prada, The Ghost Inside, Erra, Bodysnatcher, Orthodox, Deadlands and more.

You can find out more about tickets, VIP packages, and more over here . Discounted Black Friday ticket four-packs will be available on Friday (November 29th).

Outside of the Christmas hits, August Burns Red issued their “Exhumed” single earlier this year.
