Things got heated for Limp Bizkit vocalist Fred Durst and comedian/director Kyle Mooney on a new episode of Hot Ones Versus, where the pair scarfed down hot wings of death and even drank a bit of hot dog-flavored water during the online showdown.
Right off the top, Durst said he was “extremely fatigued,” but nevertheless endured the truth-or-dare face-off with Mooney, who’d recently put the Bizkit bad boy in his new film, Y2K. “This movie truly hinged on your appearance in it,” Mooney notes early on.
Durst also mentions at one point that another Bizkit member would have been a better fit for the Hot Ones franchise.
“I’m doing this for [guitarist] Wes Borland, actually, because he is a superfan of this show and of yours. He would rather be doing this show…but he didn’t get invited.”
Throughout the segment, the pair discuss Mooney downloading at least a couple Bizkit cuts via Napster; he’d moved on to pirating other bands by the time Limewire got rollin’. They also try to identify a bunch of early Aughts celebrities through some crazy-pixelated photos (70 per cent of the photos involve “Thong Song” singer Sisqo).
Durst was asked to rank the following artists he’s feuded with from most to least talented: Slipknot, Eminem, Creed and Insane Clown Posse. He was already breakin’ a sweat at the thought of throwing those acts under the bus, so he hit a wing. He did not enjoy it (“That’s pretty hot…tastes like shit.”)
Durst and Mooney also break protocol throughout and just chomp on that chicken whenever they please.
Of course, after quickly discussing the multi-million selling success of Limp Bizkit’s Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, Durst then decided whether he wanted to eat a “wing of death” or drink some salty wiener water.
They served up the latter out of a martini shaker, and while he deemed the drink “definitely terrible,” at least they paired his bevvy with a silver platter of little chocolate-covered starfish (“Kind of does resemble the actual bunghole, right?”)
