See BODY COUNT crush PINK FLOYD’s “Comfortably Numb” on ‘Fallon’

Coming off their recent album release, Ice T and the rest of Body Count delivered a Merciless performance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Last night (December 4th), the long-running metal faction opted to hit the stage with a knockout run-through of their Pink Floyd cover, “Comfortably Numb.”

While the cover takes on a less venomous approach than the bulk of Merciless, Ice T leaned into the performance with a heavy gravitas as he verbally weighed in on the troubles of this bright green globe. In the absence of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, Ice’s longtime co-conspirator Ernie C. opted to bust out a tributary series of vibrato bends.

It’s a dark but dreamy take on a classic rock track, which still fits well within the BC canon. You can see for yourself up above.

As previously reported, Merciless is the latest Body Count album to find Ice T and co. working alongside producer and Better Lovers/Fit For an Autopsy guitarist Will Putney. Throughout the year, BC also previewed the collection with singles “Psychopath,”  “Fuck What You Heard,” and most recently the title track, which received a grotesque and gory video treatment.

You can find out more about Merciless via Revolver’s recent interview with Ice T, which appeared in our Fall Issue.
