Founding Fear Factory singer Burton C. Bell played the first show with his solo band last night (June 13th), and as promised, the setlist spanned his career and many projects.
The concert went down at 1720 in L.A. and saw Bell backed by guitarist Henrik Linde (the Vitals, Dren), bassist Tony Baumeister (ÆGES), drummer Ryan Junior Kittlitz (All Hail the Yeti, the Acid Helps) and multi-instrumentalist Stewart Cararas.
Bell opened the set with his debut original solo song, the synth-heavy, sci-fi death-march “Anti-Droid,” which he premiered back in March. But he also played four Fear Factory classics (if you count their Demanufacture cover of Head of David’s “Dog Day Sunrise”), as well as songs by Rammstein, G//Z/R and Ascension of the Watchers. For good measure, Bell also threw in an unreleased new solo cut titled “Technical Exorcism.”

Look out for more original music from Bell. “I’m starting my solo career,” he stated in March. “I’m working with different producers and co-songwriters, making music that I love, with full control of the music and creative direction.”
