While it’s almost time to dig into all of Black Veil Brides’ upcoming VINDICATE LP, the band have delivered one last pre-release preview to tide over fans until it arrives in full tomorrow (May 8th). The latest and eighth single behind the set is called “Cut,” and it features a duet between BVB vocalist Andy Biersack and his wife, singer-songwriter Lilith Czar.
Though we’d recently received the bruising “Revenger” track with Machine Head’s Robb Flynn, “Cut” is a more melodic-edged team-up, Biersack and Czar crooning through a symphonic modern rock arrangement while covering relationship struggles and the people determined to “cut [you] down again.”
“‘Cut’ is a song that for me, is one of those songs in your catalog that feels like you were able to achieve exactly what you wanted to achieve when making it,” Biersack says in a statement. “I feel like Lillith’s voice and presence on this song is absolutely perfect.
“On the lyrical side, just knowing how much the concepts resonate with both me and Lilith makes it all the more special…[and] to get to shoot this incredible video together…feels like a career highlight all around. It’s one of my favorite songs we’ve ever done.”
The video, stitched together by director Max Moore, was inspired by 2005 gothic fantasy film Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, and casts Biersack in the Victor Van Dort role as a man determined to sewing his wife back together so they can “have one last dance together before he loses her forever.”
It’s added that Biersack and Czar wore their actual wedding attire from 10 years ago, and they renewed their vows on set. You’ll see how they threaded their love into the performance via the player up above.
As previously reported, Black Veil Brides’ VINDICATE is out tomorrow via Spinefarm Records. Exclusive vinyl copies on “Transparent Orange” vinyl are available in Revolver’s shop.
BVB recently launched their North American tour with From Ashes to New, TX2 and As December Falls. The next show is tomorrow at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia. The rest of the route can be found here.
