POORSTACY, the Florida-bred emo-core artist who collaborated with the likes of Bring Me the Horizon and Travis Barker, has died at the age of 26.
The passing of the singer and rapper, whose real name was Carlito Milfort Jr., was confirmed by the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner. While a cause of death has yet to be revealed, per TMZ, authorities had been called to a hotel in Boca Raton, Florida, on Saturday (November 29th) over a medical emergency. POORSTACY was then picked up and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The musician had reportedly been staying at the hotel for 10 days with a woman and a toddler.
POORSTACY was born in New York and grew up between Brooklyn and Queens, but moved to Florida with his family at a young age. The rapper’s career kicked-off with 2020’s The Breakfast Club, which was followed up the next year by the Revolver-favorited Party at the Cemetery, a genre-blurring album that reflected his love of Slipknot, My Chemical Romance and others. The album’s “Knife Party” found him joined by Bring Me the Horizon vocalist Oli Sykes.
His career highlights also included the “Choose Life” collab with blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, while his “Dark Night” was included on the Grammy-nominated soundtrack for 2020’s Bill & Ted: Face the Music.
Most recently, POORSTACY issued the “Last Time Around,” “Nothing belongs to you” and “Parasite” singles in 2025.
An official statement has yet to be released from POORSTACY’s family. This is a developing story.
