While Pantera are just about to wind down a leg of European headlining dates, the reactivated Texas groove force have announced they’ll be hitting U.S. amphitheaters all summer long with Viking-metal veterans Amon Amarth.
Pantera announced their next set of headlining dates this morning (February 24th), confirming that the nearly month-long run begins July 15th at Burgettstown, Pennsylvania’s Pavilion at Star Lake, bounces from coast to coast, and winds down September 13th at West Palm Beach, Florida’s iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre.
Joining them the whole way through will be Amon Amarth. Details have yet to be revealed, but a second guest opener will apparently be announced in the near future.
Presales for Pantera’s next headlining trip, which they’re billing as the “heaviest tour of the summer,” go on sale tomorrow (February 25th) at 10:00 A.M. local time, while general onsales go live on Friday (February 28th). You’ll find more info over on Pantera website.
As previously reported, Pantera — currently comprising classic line-up vocalist Phillip Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown, along with guitarist Zakk Wylde and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante in place of the departed, founding Abbott brothers — are also rejoining Metallica’s next round of M72 tour dates, and will likewise be playing Black Sabbath’s massive farewell show in Birmingham, UK next July.
