Brotherly boy-band guitarist-vocalist Nick Jonas is apparently set to star in an upcoming KISS biopic as the Starchild himself, Paul Stanley.
An exclusive report from Deadline says the Disney Channel vet is closing a deal to perform on-screen as Stanley in the forthcoming Shout it Out Loud, a film set to explore the formation of iconic hard rockers KISS as they entered the New York City rock scene of the early Seventies.
Few details exist on Jonas’ involvement beyond this, but the longtime pop-rocker and “Love Me to Heaven” singer is expected to get “Hotter Than Hell” on the mic throughout Shout it Out Loud — in other words, he’ll be singing KISS songs throughout.
Deadline are reporting that Jonas will need to train to replicate Stanley’s signature singing style. Hopefully he’ll brush up on the Starchild’s legendary banter style, too. Considering Jonas’ infamous guitar solo flub at the ACM awards in 2016, it might be for the best that he wasn’t cast as Ace Frehley.
The film is being directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels, The Babysitter), and is expected to go into full production between late 2025 and early 2026. The current draft was scripted up by writer Darren Lemke (Gemini Man, Shazam!, Kung Fu Panda 4).
