Following the late March release of Alien Weaponry’s Te Rā full-length, the New Zealand metal trio have unleashed the power of their “Tanhiwa” through a new music video featuring guest growler and Lamb of God magnate Randy Blythe.
As previously reported, the heavy-judded, double-kicked groover addresses themes of colonial arrogance, and how that could invoke the wrath of the Taniwha, a protective supernatural creature within Māori mythology.
As for the video, it finds 9-to-5-garbed Alien Weaponry fighting the system from the inside. The trio are spending their work days putting on bottom end-subversive and environmentally focused presentations for their corporate overlords. They’re also hitting the company’s roof to crack off their single on their lunch break.
Blythe is likewise seen in a recorded video message delivering a whispered warning to the businessmen from behind an all-white mask. As “Taniwha” continues with its strong landback messaging, Blythe rips off his disguise to unleash his inner beast. Things ultimately do not bode well for the businessmen.
