While Loathe have been keeping it heavy this spring as one of the openers on Spiritbox’s current Tsunami Sea tour, the UK metalcore deconstructionists managed to sneak in a secret show in Brooklyn, New York, last night, and they even shared a few new songs.
The band’s last-minute performance took place at intimate The Hall at Elsewhere, and began with an opening set from theatrical post-hardcore upstarts Static Dress.
By the time Loathe made it to the stage, lead vocalist Kadeem France and the rest of the English outfit leaned into a 13-song performance that primarily pulled from their much-loved 2020 LP I Let It In and Took Everything — including fan favorites “Is It Really You?” and “Screaming.”
They also concluded the night with a pair of unnamed new songs, which potentially bodes well for the band’s long-in-the-works and much-anticipated next LP.
Photographer Dimitry Mak was there to capture Loathe last night — you can see some of his standout shots below.
