On top of possessing one of metal’s most iconic howls, Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe is an accomplished author. Nearly ten years on from delivering his debut memoir, Dark Days, Blythe has now announced a follow-up is on the way. His Just Beyond the Light: Making Peace with the Wars Inside Our Head is out next year.
Blythe described the new book, which is out February 18th via Grand Central Publishing as a “tight, concise roadmap of how I have attempted to maintain what I believe to be a proper perspective in life, even during difficult times.” It’s added that, in part, he’s maintained positivity through “sobriety, art, and surfing.”
Blythe’s Dark Days had previously covered his experiences in prison and on trial in the Czech Republic while contending with a manslaughter charge, following the death of a fan who sustained head injuries at a Lamb of God show. With Just Beyond the Light, Blythe broadens this out to report on his time growing up in the South, the death of friends, and the things he’s learned while fronting a successful metal band. Through this latest memoir, he’s hoping to pass on to readers that that while life can be extremely challenging, things are not entirely hopeless
Pre-orders for Blythe’s next memoir are up here, while you can pick up a copy of 2015’s Dark Days over in Revolver‘s shop.
