Be warned: Jerry Cantrell is still out for blood. Following the 2024 release of the grunge-gloom icon’s I Want Blood solo album, the musician has announced another run of U.S. dates to support the toweringly heavy release.
Though Cantrell had wrapped a leg of U.S. I Want Blood tour dates in March, and he’s about to hit Europe for a handful of shows, the Alice in Chains veteran announced today (May 19th) that he and the rest of his current backup band will be back out in U.S. clubs by mid-summer.
A four-week trek begins August 16th at The Observatory in San Diego, California. They’ll head eastward as far out as Connecticut, and close things out in them Midwest with a September 14th finale at Kansas, Missouri’s Uptown Theater.
The tour will also find Cantrell supported by opening act Filter. You’ll find all of the date details below, while tickets are up for sale this Thursday (May 22nd) at 10 a.m. local time. Info on tickets and v.i.p. packages can be found here.
In related news, last week Alice in Chains drummer Sean Kinney revealed he was taking time off from the band after experiencing a “non-life-threatening medical emergency” during a soundcheck earlier this month.
Alice in Chains canceled all of their May headline and festival appearances, but are currently still booked to perform at Black Sabbath’s “Back to the Beginning” farewell show in Birmingham, UK on July 5th.
