Denver, Colorado, rap-metal wrecking crew Fox Lake have gassed us up for the release of their next album by delivering a hard-bruised single called “Pure Adrenaline.”
The track is Fox Lake’s second single of the year, following January’s Revolver-favorited “Cold Hard Truth,” and both cuts figure on the band’s forthcoming New World Heat LP.
According to the band, “Pure Adrenaline” had been in the works since 2021 but recently came together as a fuel-injected ripper full of mock engine-revving guitar noise, Nineties-leaning turntablism and an off-kilter, yet oppressive moshes. Vocalist Nathan Johnson, meanwhile, spits his way through lines about how he’s done playing nice (“No more games, I’m done with the bullshit”) and how he and the rest of Fox Lake have become “a shock to the system.”
The group added of the single in a joint statement: “We all came together and unanimously agreed that we wanted the new songs to be faster, more visceral, more concrete, and most importantly, all gas, no brakes. Pure fucking adrenaline.”
A new video for “Pure Adernaline” likewise finds the crew singing their song while rippin’ around the Mile High City That ‘70s Show-style. You’ll find the clip up above.
