Iron Maiden will be riding through the barren wastes of North America yet again, with the NWOBHM icons having just announced a run of U.S. and Canadian concert dates as part of their 50th anniversary-celebrating “Run for Your Lives Tour.” Better yet, they’re hitting the ground running alongside Megadeth and Anthrax.
Maiden announced the shows this morning (October 23rd), confirming that the North American leg of dates begins next summer. They’ll be on this side of the pond for 12 shows, one of which being a stop at Louisville, Kentucky’s Louder Than Life Festival on September 17th.
As for their headlining arena dates, those kick off August 29th at Toronto, Ontario’s Rogers Centre, and winds down September 29th at San Antonio, Texas’ Alamodome.
As with earlier international “Run for Your Lives” dates, the concerts will find Maiden specializing in hits between their 1980 self-titled debut and 1992’s Fear of the Dark. Megadeth will open the majority of the shows, while fellow Big 4-mates Anthrax hop on for a handful of dates.
“We are greatly looking forward to bringing this ‘Run for Your Lives Tour’ to North America and hope the fans enjoy seeing the show and hearing the set list as much as we do playing it,” Maiden bassist Steve Harris said in a statement. “It’s an added bonus to have a few of our good friends on the tour with us. Megadeth are playing all the shows and it’s an honor to have them join us on their last ever tour.
“We also have Anthrax with us on the bigger shows, we had a great time with them when they came out with us on Ed Force One around the world in 2016. We’re delighted to have both bands with us for this tour and know our fans will enjoy seeing them.”
Exclusive Iron Maiden Fan Club presales begin next Tuesday (October 28th), while general ticket sales are live on Halloween (October 31st).
