Veteran Michigan post-hardcore outfit I Prevail have announced they’ve split with longtime clean vocalist Brian Burkheiser, and will forge forward with rhythm guitarist Dylan Bowman handling the outgoing frontman’s singing duties.
The lineup switch was announced over socials today (May 15th), with a message to the broader “I Prevail Family” noting that Burkheiser and the group came to a mutual decision that they should part ways. Burkheiser had been with the band for more than a decade, and delivered cleans across all three of their full-lengths, the last of which being 2022’s True Power.
“This was a difficult decision, but we believe it is the right one and we are all grateful for the 10 epic years we shared together,” the band wrote on Instagram. “We wish Brian nothing but success and happiness in his future endeavors.”
The band reiterated that vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe will still handle screams, while Bowman will take on the more melodic cleans. They then reminded fans that the guitairist had occasionally performed the role before, on some shows they’d performed without Burkheiser.
“Rest assured, we will continue to deliver the high-energy shows that we’ve made a pillar of our band, and we will continue to perform all the bangers from our catalogue. All scheduled shows will go on exactly as planned.”
I Prevail’s next show is this Saturday (May 17th) at the Welcome to Rockville in Daytona, Florida.
As previously reported, I Prevail’s upcoming show schedule also includes a bunch of dates on this year’s inaugural Summer of Loud tour. The band will act as rotating headliners alongside Beartooth, Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive.
