Metal has a new anonymous, masked band. Meet PRESIDENT, the latest mystery act to tantalize heavy-music fans.
The project raised eyebrows earlier this year when it was booked for a prominent slot at this summer’s Download Festival, June 15th on the Dogtooth stage, leading to wild speculation of a possible connection to Sleep Token (who are headlining the fest), among other theories. Now, PRESIDENT have offered up their first song, the crunchy, autotuned alt-metal anthem “In the Name of the Father,” along with its enigmatic music video.
“Something has been stirring. A growing noise, a ripple through the republic of the underground,” the band commented in a cryptic statement. “We called. You listened. Your curiosity, your questions, your conversation… We have witnessed it all.
“Here, we make our first proclamation. ‘In The Name of the Father.’ This is the first crack in the surface. This is your PRESIDENT. We’’l be seeing you soon. Godspeed”
