Three Days Grace are pushing through the pain with a positive-spirited but heavy new single. The Canadian hard rockers, now reunited with vocalist Adam Gontier, have gone the Carpe Diem route for new tune “Dominate.”
The band’s latest single is their third since Gontier’s return, and it’s explained in a press release that “Dominate” is “rooted in strength and power,” as well as the ability to seize the moment, even when the chips are down. Three Days Grace add that “Dominate” isn’t just a song title, but a “mindset.”
“This song’s about the fire that wakes you up when the world doesn’t,” vocalist/Guitarist Matt Walst explains.
“The sun doesn’t rise or set for you — it just keeps spinning. If you want something, really want it, you’ve gotta bleed for it. You’ve gotta be willing to give up everything — sleep, comfort, peace — just to get a shot at being the best. I’ve lived that. I’ve felt the weight of proving myself when no one thought I could. But when you’ve got something to prove and nothing left to lose? That’s when you’re at your most dangerous.”

The song, which follows Three Days Grace’s recent “Mayday” and “Apologies” singles, is streaming now. All three tracks will appear on Three Days Grace’s 12-song Alienation LP, which is out August 22nd via RCA Records.
Three Days Grace have a pair of Canadian dates left on their support run with Volbeat this weekend. From there, the band have a North American summer tour with Breaking Benjamin, and European dates throughout the fall.
