Just in time for Halloween, There Is No Us — the industrial-metal band helmed by award-winning photographer, videographer and Revolver contributor Jim Louvau — have teamed with 8mm, the trip-hop group featuring Sean Beavan (best known for his production and audio engineering work with Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and others) and his wife Juliette Beavan, for the slinky, menacing collab single “Fragments.”
The song sinuously melds the latter’s lysergic, trip-hop-laced sound with the former’s more metallic and in-your-face attack. Check it out via the lyric video above.
“We’ve been working with Sean for many years now,” Louvau commented, “and typically any new music we release goes through him to get his feedback, whether it’s in its infant stages or when we think something is done. So working with him and Juliette on a track seemed like a natural fit.”
He added: “This song also has some elements that are a little bit out of our typical wheelhouse, by touching on a bit of a trip-hop vibe that is seductive and almost inviting thanks to Juliette’s voice before we bring our signature brand of aggression.”
There Is No Us dropped their self-titled debut album in 2024 via Cleopatra Records, while 8mm released the Blown Away EP earlier this year. There Is No Us will play a headline show at Hollywood’s Bar Sinister tomorrow, November 1st.
