Just shy of a year on from the release of Staind’s comeback album, Confessions of the Fallen, the nu-rockers admit they’ve got more tunes in their vault. To preview a brand-new deluxe edition of Confessions, they’ve let loose a lyric video for bonus track “Full of Emptiness.”
The new single is a detuned power-swing that finds vocalist Aaron Lewis contending with the world of hate that’s left him with a heavy heart, a head full of regret, a host of bad habits, and the emotional drain of spiraling deeper into the void. “Am I in hell?” he questions of himself mid-track.
Despite the bleak outlook, which you can sample up above, Staind are stoked to finally have their “Emptiness” out in the world.
“We’re very excited to be able to offer our fans a deluxe edition of Confessions of the Fallen,” guitarist Mike Mushok said in a statement. “There are a couple unreleased tracks on it, one being ‘Full of Emptiness.’ It was so hard deciding what tracks not to put on the record, and it’s great to have them heard now.”
The digital-only deluxe edition of Confessions of the Fallen is out now, and likewise includes a reworked version of the band’s “Better Days” that now features guest vocals from Dorothy.
