Hear KUBLAI KHAN TX’s crushing new song “Supreme Ruler”

Kublai Khan TX are coming in hot with a furious first taste of their next LP. Primed to put you in your place, the Texan metalcore powerhouses are asserting their dominance through a bone-crusher called “Supreme Ruler.”

A press release confirms that the cut is from Kublai Khan TX’s forthcoming fifth full-length, Exhibition of Prowess. “Supreme Ruler” is a 53-second slammer with vicious intent, and it quickly runs gun-turret guitar judding against an efficiently chest-collapsing beat. Thematically, the economy of language used within the seven-word “Supreme Ruler” could be distilled even further down to its concluding statement: “Khan is king.”

“‘Supreme Ruler’ is a metalcore torpedo aimed straight at the world,” the band explained of the single. “This song captures the true simplicity and pissed-off essence of Kublai Khan TX in its rawest form. Straight to the point, no bullshit, and built to last.”

You can check out the song in a new video that likewise tags on a spoken word intro on legacies and dynasties, and adds a bit more context on the etymology of Kublai Khan TX’s band name. Visually, it also has the group putting on a fiery, commanding display.

Exhibition of Prowess is out September 20th through Rise, and it will also feature Kublai Khan’s “Low Tech” single from earlier in the year and 2023’s crushing “Theory of Mind,” as well as guest appearances from Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta and Throwdown vocalist Dave Peters.
