While a red carpet gaffe at last weekend’s Grammy Awards found an interviewer confusing Courtney Laplante for Poppy, the Spiritbox singer and her band remain one of the contemporary heavy-music scene’s most distinctive voices. As such, they’re holding place in their own damn lane once again, having just premiered the latest Tsunami Sea single, “No Loss, No Love.”
The band’s third preview from their sophomore full-length was produced by guitarist Mike Stringer and Dan Braunstein (Silent Planet, Silverstein), and it finds the act flooding the speakers with elements of djented-up guitar juddery and swirling electronica. Laplante goes for broke while coasting from rumbling gutturals towards an icy spoken word section.
As with Spiritbox’s other recent music vids, the clip for “No Loss, No Love” is lookin’ extra aqueous and totally black and white, with the band bashing out the number as they’re being battered by crashing waves. The video was directed by Stringer and visual collaborator Max Moore.
Spiritbox’s Tsunami Sea is due out March 7th via Pale Chord/Rise Records, and you can pre-order vinyl and CD copies now over in Revolver’s shop.
As previously reported, Spiritbox begin their headlining European tour — which also features openers Periphery and Stray From the Path — next week. Then, they hit the road for a North American trek alongside openers Loathe, GEL and Dying Wish in April.
