After keeping us “Safe and Sound” in February, Shinedown are now taking us into the world of the “Outlaw” — per the framework of the rockers’ latest preview off their forthcoming EI8HT.
Described in a press release as a song featuring a “gritty, roots-driven foundation” and “raw, open-road energy,” the newest Shinedown single mixes flavors of rock, country and more. Pedal-steel lines and traditional slide work shoot the breeze with shuffle-heavy drums, bursting guitar chords and the Stetson-and-gunsmoke-scented musings of Shinedown leader Brent Smith (“There’s blood in these tears pouring out just like pure poetry”).

As previously reported, Shinedown’s EI8HT is out on May 29th. The album also features singles “Safe and Sound”, “Searchlight”, “Dance, Kid, Dance”, “Three Six Five” and “Killing Fields.”
