Here at Revolver, we’re always on the hunt for new songs to bang our heads to — indeed, it’s a big part of our jobs. With that in mind, here are the tracks released this week in hardcore, doom, djent and more that have been on heavy rotation at Revolver HQ.

TheBoyShadow – “Give Me A Seam & I’ll Show You The Meaning”
While all will be revealed in due time, former Loathe guitarist Connor Sweeney has pulled at the seam of his new TheBoyShadow project to reveal heady debut single “Give Me A Seam & I’ll Show You the Meaning.”
Full-throttle noisecore sections and interstellar blast beats collide against a galaxy of violent purple synths and romantically crooned breaks, Sweeney apparently undertaking all this while accompanied by an as-yet-unnamed, golden-masked drummer.
The U.K. unit’s first show is this month, and we can’t wait to see what else unravels out of their shadow.
The Callous Daoboys – “Gigantic Parasite Tongue”
Determined to freak our minds, the Callous Daoboys have remerged with another cross-pollinational fever dream of sound.
“Gigantic Parasite Tongue” laps at the limbic system with alternating strokes of metalcore friction, cataclysmic bass, tearfully fully balladic smoothness, and twitched hyper-pop breaks that sound like a PinkPantheress remix desperately trying to claw its way out of the arrangement. Carson Pace’s lyrics perhaps hint at the ideas-stuffed presentation of it all (“You entered my body as a body my same size”).
In a word? Gigantic.
Converge – “Hum of Hurt”
“I know this one hurts.”
Converge buckled our knees this week through the surprise announcement of the band’s second full-length of 2026, their impending Hum of Hurt. Come to think of it, the ferocity of the title track has got us weak, too.
Last February’s Love Is Not Enough album erupted with the fieriest tendencies of the Massachusetts mastercrafters, the record sporting D-beating technical ferocity for days. “Hum of Hurt” still technically has drummer Ben Koller double-kicking his way to Valhalla, but an inkier rumble ultimately powers through a loud and sorrowfully melodic arrangement, Jacob Bannon and Nate Newton adding ragged gravitas through despairing howls (“We are so cruel when old gives way to new”).
Monolord – “You Bastard”
At one point in Monolord’s great grooving “You Bastard,” vocalist-guitarist Thomas Jäger power-croons about how there’s “no supply for their demands,” which may or may not be a sly nod to the fact that — up until a couple of days ago — it had been close to five years since the Gothenburg, Sweden, doom force gave us any new music. But they’re back, and they’ve got the goods, and it’s glorious.
The trio traveled to Ashland, Oregon, to record their Neverending LP with producer-engineer Shirley Massey (TOOL, Johnny Cash), and the riffs are as thick and awe-inspiring as a field of towering Douglas Firs.
Periphery – “Mr. God”
“Raze the crown.”
Progressive-metal royals Periphery left us a molten mess with the hellaciously stomp-forward “Mr. God,” from the sextet’s upcoming A Pale White Dot LP.
The band increase the heat throughout, working themselves up from a savage, to-the-point djent syncopation towards more wrist-grindingly mathematical rhythm-making by song’s end. The poor-fated power-grabs illustrated by Spencer Sotelo’s lyrics are Promethean in nature, yet the disastrous chain of events he lays out also work like a Russian nesting doll in reverse (“The more you try to stomp, it blazes higher”).
The Plot in You – “You Get One”
Get ready to crank up the latest track from the Plot in You.
Somehow both sleek and seismic, the Ohio outfit’s latest tune — set to appear on their upcoming The Volume Series compendium — “You Get One” contrasts an industrialized four-on-the-floor, slaughterhouse guitar brutalism and Landon Tewers’ bloodcurdling scream with a few subtly-intoned yet max-impactful vocal shivers.
