BABYMETAL and electronic production crew Major Lazer want you to hop to a brand-new beat. As recently reported, the kawaii-metal mainstays are about to deliver a newly spruced-up deluxe edition of last year’s collab-heavy METAL FORTH LP, which includes a now club-geared redux of BABYMETAL’s Poppy-assisted “from me to u”.
The remix has Major Lazer — a long-running creative outlet for super-producer Diplo — stand up and make their move while scrubbing out guitars, instead favoring tropical dance beats and synth-skittering accents. Flipping the beat locks BABYMETAL’s sung sections into a new sense of rhythm, while Poppy’s big-time screams get blasted with a wall of reverb.
You can let the remix wriggle through you via the player up above.
As previously reported, the deluxe METAL FORTH sees release June 26th through Capitol Records. In addition to the original LP, there are a series of live cuts, along with another “from me to u” from producer Jordan Fish. You’ll find more info on the release over here.
BABYMETAL lean into a series of late summer dates August 30th at San Diego, California’s Petco Park, which is a support date with My Chemical Romance. They then launch a larger headlining run September 2nd at Chicago, Illinois’ Ball Arena, and those dates will see them joined by metal vets Halestorm.
