Hear MACHINE HEAD’s ROBB FLYNN join BLACK VEIL BRIDES on new song “Revenger”

After serving up their vampiric “Vindicate” single last month, Black Veil Brides have reemerged with a new song made alongside another metal monster: Machine Head leader Robb Flynn. Together, they’re battering out the band’s “Revenger.”

BVB vocalist Andy Biersack calls the new tune one of his favorites from BVB’s forthcoming VINDICATE LP, and adds that the track was an “interesting exercise” as it had him writing lyrics “from the perspective of someone who is trying to seek out the ultimate form of justice.”

“I have always been interested in the sort of ethical dilemma that we have culturally of cheering for justice,” the frontman explains in a statement.

“Because I was writing from someone else’s voice, this felt like the kind of song that would be best served by having someone else’s voice on the song. So, we brought in Robb Flynn of Machine Head. The reason he came to mind first was of course his voice, tonality and style I thought was perfect for this. He is also someone who was one of the first real defenders of Black Veil Brides.

“In the early days when we were getting absolutely shit on by every other metal band, Robb Flynn and Machine Head stood up for us and said positive things about us and has maintained that for years and years.”

The song lays the gavel down with heavy drums and punitive judding, yet BVB bring metal-melodic energy to the chorus. As for guest growler Flynn, he hops onto the second verse to outline how he’d been done wrong in the past, so now he’s going scorched-earth-savage on his justice campaign (“I’ve found my strength in the wounds I’ve made”).

As previously reported, Black Veil Brides’ VINDICATE is out May 8th via Spinefarm Records, though an exclusive copy on “Transparent Orange” vinyl is available to pre-order in Revolver’s shop. The album also includes previously released singles “Bleeders,” “Hallelujah,” and “Certainty.”

BVB will be launching their next North American tour April 25th at Riverside, California’s Municipal Auditorium. That trek also features openers From Ashes to New, TX2 and As December Falls.
