Light Tower — the solo project of Spotlights, Orange 9mm and Julie Christmas drummer Christopher Enriquez — has unveiled a new collaborative single with New York goth-dustrial duo Heavy Halo. While the track displays cohesive artistic chemistry, the darkwave-leaning team-up comes billed ironically under the name “Interference.”
The new single arrived today (December 13th) via Silent Pendulum Records, and follows Light Tower’s self-titled debut EP for Iodine Records in 2022. This time around, Enriquez (who is also Revolver’s Brand Partnership Director) and Heavy Halo lean into a darkly propulsive electronic beat, neon-decadent synth choppiness and a wild-ass shred solo. Enriquez soft-sneers through lyrics he says are about “how things like religion and family can interfere with someone’s ability to be who they want to be.”
“Because the lyrics touch upon dark experiences, naturally I wanted the music to match,” he said in a statement. “I tend to write music that fits more in the post-hardcore vein and was unable to capture the darkness that I wanted on a sonic level. That’s when I reached out to Heavy Halo about collaborating. In NYC, they are absolutely my favorite band playing goth, industrial and new wave with a fresh take on these genres.”
The members of Heavy Halo added in a joint statement: “When Chris came to us with this darkly poignant song about someone you love spiraling out of control in ritualistic self-sabotage, we knew we wanted to work with him on it. We took his raw human core and grafted it to an electronic exoskeleton, trying to convey how it feels to be trapped in your own private psychic dystopia.”

In related news, Light Tower also performs tonight at Brooklyn, New York’s BrooklynMade venue, opening up for noise-rockers Whores.
As previously reported, Heavy Halo likewise have their Damaged Dream album arriving through Silent Pendulum Records in 2025. They’d previewed the full-length through first single “Damage Me” earlier this fall. The album is available for pre-order now.
