Coming off the heels of their late fall tour alongside the Devil Wears Prada, progressive metalcore twisters Silent Planet have put a new single into our orbit. The band’s “Mindframe” is out now, and marks their first release since becoming independent artists in September.
The track hit streamers today (December 13th), and follows the band’s early fall announcement that they’d split with longtime label Solid State Records.
“Mindframe,” produced by Dan Braunstein (Spiritbox, Silverstein), comes marked with mega-weighted riff bombast, in-miniature breakbeats, digi-warped breakdowns and sarcastically caustic lines about hailing the “digital savior” and bowing down to the algorithm.
Silent Planet described the song on their socials as “an open letter to the powers that be,” and confirmed that it’s “independently released, and… yours forever.” They added: “You can stream it, steal it… we don’t care just make sure it stays long enough to infect.”

In related news, Silent Planet will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Night God Slept with a pair of full-album performances at Anaheim, California’s Chain Reaction venue. The December 19-20th performances will feature opening sets from Phinehas, AVOID and Earth Groans. They likewise have European tour dates early next year with Superbloom, Like Moths to Flames and Vexxed.
