Coming off their recent and supremely pissed-off straight edge anthem, “Everybody Breaks,” XweaponX — the metallic hardcore supergroup featuring members of Knocked Loose, Gates to Hell and more — have now delivered an entire demo dedicated to the drug free youth. The Louisville, Kentucky outfit’s Weapon X Demo 2 was released to streamers today (April 18th) via DAZE Records.
As previously reported, XweaponX comprises Knocked Loose’s Isaac Hale and Bryan Garris, Gates to Hell drummer Trey Garris, and vocalist Dave Baugher. Their second demo — which follows their 2022 Weapon X Demo release and a 2023 split with Canadian edge-lords World of Pleasure — once again needles into a heavy, metallic hardcore sound and often proudly, defiantly and violently straight edge lyricism (“Weapon X. Straight Edge. Fuck You.”)
The new tunes include a team up with L.A. outfit Human Garbage (“On My Own”), and also features Earth Crisis vocalist Karl Buechner meta-referencing his band’s old “Firestorm” single during his guest spot on “B.N.E.”
