Kami Kehoe’s rise in the rock world is running hot as a fever. Following the breakthrough success of last year’s KANDY EP, her recent “Fade Out” single and an acclaimed tour with Daughtry and Seether, she’s now unveiled a fiery take on Southern brother band Kings of Leon’s classic “Sex on Fire.”
Kehoe’s first release of 2026 recasts the Kings’ Grammy-nominated 2008 anthem in a darker image — covering the original alt-rock arrangement in kerosene-slick layers of nu-brooding riffage and effects-distorted croons from Kehoe, and then fully combusting once the drums kick in.
The artist played the cover on her recent tour with Daughtry and Seether, and had been working on it in the background for a few years prior. It wasn’t until now, though, that she felt ready to light the match and let this explode onto streamers.
“I actually started working on my cover of ‘Sex on Fire’ four years ago, and the way fans connect with it has never left my mind,” She explains. “It feels really good to finally give it a proper release and let this version live in the world.”
Of what’s on the horizon, she adds: “I’ve been pouring everything into new music, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear what’s next.”
