Coming off Kami Kehoe’s recent steamy revamp of Kings of Leon’s “Sex on Fire,” the rising rock singer and viral drum sensation has now delivered her first original song of 2026, an emotions-soaked wrecker called “HEARTLESS.”
The new tune marks Kehoe’s first original track since last fall’s “Fade Out,” and arrives via Atlantic Records. “HEARTLESS” begins balladic, the arrangement first uncovering dramatic synth pulses and Kehoe’s soft-sung, but effects-warped croon.
A press release explains that the song comes from “the perspective of someone who has been burned enough times to go numb,” with Kehoe reticent about the start of a relationship (“I think my heart’s been overused”), and wondering at what point she’ll “fuck it up.”
“‘HEARTLESS’ is about having one heart and putting it on the line, but wrestling with the idea of finding your person and knowing that if they leave, they take everything you had with them,” Kehoe said in a statement, adding of her artistic vulnerability, “Seeing people connect with my music everyday has made me a lot less scared of being this honest, because that kind of truth is exactly what makes music worth making for me.”
The video finds Kehoe wandering through a rain-slicked abyss as she contemplates the emotional plight. Dark, melancholic guitar chords boom through the chorus. Kehoe hops behind the kit during the breakdown — she’s got a pretty good grip on those sticks, despite slammin’ the cans during a soundstage rainstorm.
While details are pending on a future full-length release through Atlantic, Kehoe’s upcoming plans for 2026 include a handful of club and fest appearances, which you’ll find below.
Revolver recently partnered up with Kehoe for an exclusive vinyl pressing of her 2025 KANDY EP on “Blue & Silver Sparkle” wax, which sold out almost immediately.
