Hear JAMES “MUNKY” SHAFFER and JOSH FREESE join VOWWS on new song “SHUDDER”

“Death-pop” duo VOWWS have announced their forthcoming new album, I’ll fill you house with an army, and unveiled its latest single, the eerie and aptly named “SHUDDER,” which follows January’s “Blood’s on Fire” and March’s “Hurt You.”

The band, comprised of singer-keyboardist Rizz and singer-guitarist Matt James, enlisted two famous friends for the new song: Korn riff-master James “Munky” Shaffer and veteran drummer Josh Freese, who recently split with the Foo Fighters but has also played with A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails and Guns N’ Roses, among many others. (Freese also appears on “Blood’s on Fire.”)

“SHUDDER” arrived today (May 30th) accompanied by a fittingly haunting, hallucinogenic music video directed and edited by VOWWS’ own Rizz. Watch and listen above.

“It was around the time I had reached out to Rizz to appear on my Venera record when she asked me to play on ‘Shudder,'” Shaffer commented. “They were working with Billy Howerdel, who’s a friend, so it was kind of a perfect situation for me to jump into. Not to mention, I always wanted to play with Josh Freese. It ended up being a wonderful collaboration with a wonderful band.”

I’ll fill your house with an army, which was co-produced by A Perfect Circle mastermind Billy Howerdel, is due out October 24th via Out of Line Music. You can pre-order it here.
