Halestorm are taking themselves to the top with a new hard rock anthem, which coincidentally happens to be the title track to their forthcoming album, Everest.
The new song is the second preview of the band’s upcoming sixth full-length, following the lighter-waving “Darkness Always Wins.” This time around, Halestorm prop themselves up with a broodingly chugged pace and Lzzy Hale’s lines around pain, struggle and finding the power to persevere. The anthemic chorus resolve reflects the latter triumph
“Our song ‘Everest’ is the summit of everything we’ve fought for—every scream, every scar, every triumph,” Lzzy Hale said in a statement, adding of the record as a whole, “This album is US, louder and bolder, and more brutally honest than ever, standing tall in the face of the storm.”
A video for the track, which splices performance footage with shots of “humans on the brink” and various stock explosions, can be found up above.
As previously reported, the 12-song Everest is said to reflect, “both lyrically and sonically…the band’s mountainous climb over the last couple decades.” The album was made alongside Grammy-winning producer and “closet metal fan” Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell).
Everest is out August 8th via Atlantic Records. Copies of the album on CD and hot pink vinyl are currently up for pre-order in Revolver‘s shop.
Halestorm are currently touring Europe supporting Iron Maiden, but likewise will be hitting U.S. arenas this summer as support on Volbeat’s next tour, and will be taking on their own “nEVEREST” headlining tour in the fall.
