Long Island, New York, metalcore veterans Stray From the Path are capping a nearly 25-year career with the surprise release of a brand-new album. The band’s swan song, titled Clockworked, is out now.
The album and breakup announcements arrived simultaneously, alongside a music video for new bruising single “Shot Caller.”
Stray From the Path confirmed in a statement that their breakup was a group decision, explaining in a joint statement that “there’s no bad blood, we love each other, and we love you all.” The current iteration of the band, which had been working together for nearly a decade, just felt it was time to put the project to bed.
That said, farewell tour dates are expected to be revealed sometime soon.
“We’ve gone on to make amazing records together, tour the world, and have been fortunate to gain the support of people, more than we could have asked for. We get to go out on our own accord, on a final record and do some final tours celebrating the band one last time with the people who gave us a great career.”
The 10-song Clockworked includes the band’s recent “Kubrick Stare” single. You can check out the full album down below, while pre-orders for physical editions are up now through the band’s label, Sharptone Records. You can find out more here.
