Grey Daze — the alt-rock outfit originally fronted by the late Chester Bennington, years before he’d joined up with Linkin Park — have issued another single with their current frontman, Cris Hodges. The latest soul-searching outing is titled “Shadows.”
The song marks Grey Daze’s third single of 2025, following “Fake Little Lies” and “Still Screaming.” A press release explains that the new song “explores themes of self-discovery, resilience, and overcoming darkness.”
The group build up towards a yearningly anthemic arrangement of high-voltage guitars and rasping, melodic vocals from Hodges, who reflects on the “screaming voices” inside him and a life lived in emotional torment (“I have unhealthy attractions to the pain that never mends”).
“We’re excited to share ‘Shadows’ with our fans,” Hodges commented, adding of the single, “It encapsulates the struggles we all face of being overlooked and the importance of pushing through to find your light.”

While details are still pending, Grey Daze are expected to issue a new full-length in 2026. The album follows 2022’s The Phoenix, and will be their first with the current lineup of Hodges, guitarists Kenny Bulka and Cristin Davis, bassist Evan Nichols and drummer Sean Dowdell.
